Unlike standard DC motors, which wrap wire coils around a heavy iron rotor core, the coreless DC motor relies on a self-supporting, basket-shaped rotor winding. This unique configuration completely eliminates cogging torque, which is the uneven rotation caused by electromagnetic pull between magnetic poles and core steel. This design removes magnetic drag, yielding exceptionally smooth rotation, reduced acoustic noise, and ultra-precise positioning controls.
